The National Council of Software and  IT Clusters (which changed its name to mxTI during phase 2 of the iCluster Project) was a very close strategic ally of the Mexican Technology Platform from its origin and at a national level in Mexico, actively collaborating in the FORESTA, FIRST, CONECTA 2020 and iCluster

projects.

During the period 2011-2018, approximately 22 ICT clusters from different regions of Mexico participated as members of mxTI relating to the MTP projects. This organization was very active in promoting the certification of ICT clusters by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) organization, reaching several gold certifications among its members, and disseminating iCluster's smart specialization strategy in Mexico.

Board members of mxTI participated in the MTP Executive Assemblies. The two presidents appointed by the MTP in the period 2011-2018 came from this organization. Likewise, MTP Board members participated in the mxTI Board Assemblies during this period, planning common, complementary, and parallel objectives aimed at promoting innovation and collaborating with public and private organizations in the regions where mxTI had a presence.

mxTI played an important role in the iCluster Digital Transformation initiative at a national level. Acting as MTP´s ally in the execution of the iCluster project, both organizations joined efforts to promote the ICT sector in Mexico, coordinate national and international events and develop the Strategic Agenda for Research and Innovation and the Smart City Agenda.
