The Knowledge Women Innovation Spaces (KWINS) Living Lab is created from past experiences around gender equality and the role of women in society.  It seeks women’s overcoming, personal and professional growth through knowledge. It was recognized by the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) in 2012. It enables the iCluster gender equality initiative  and relates transversally with the other initiatives of the iCluster Ecosystem using the same methodologies of the KMSME Living Lab.

The gender equality knowledge model was originally developed based on past experiences of the  RetosFemeninos.com social network and the International Women's Day events conducted for more than ten years in various cities of Mexico, receiving public funding support from CONACYT in 2013.

As part of the evolution of the KWINS Living Lab during the three phases of the iCluster Ecosystem, execution of the KMSME strategy for member escalation and online aggregation of knowledge took place through the TuRetoEmprendedor online community under the objectives of the High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED) signed between the governments of Mexico and the United States.
